We arrived late in Lihue, Kaua`i, after arriving late for our flight from Maui, which meant our luggage would be coming the next morning.
One benefit of our tardiness, was the Alamo Midsize cars were all gone, so we got a fullsize upgrade for free. Our maroon Pontiac Grand Prix got us 26 miles down the one Kauai highway in great comfort.
We checked into our Pahio villa at the airport, so when we pulled into the driveway, all we had to do is walk up and open Unit 1022's door. When we did, we were surprised to discover a two-bedroom, two-bath unit. King and whirlpool tub/shower in the Master; full kitchen and peaceful lanai -- where we intend to eat all our villa-based meals. All to say, we're most pleased with the Pahio Bali Hai Villas! No wonder vacation owners are only allowed to stay here once every 3 years. Play your cards right, and we'll aim to bring you here with us in 2009.
Thank you, Lord, for this sweet blessing! May we experience your glory these 11 days.
Saturday we spent recuperating and preparing for our days ahead. We had an Island Orientation Breakfast at Bali Hai, where we signed up for a helicopter tour. After breakfast, we drove back to the Lihue Airport to retrieve our luggage.
We later stocked up our kitchen with food so we could eat some of our meals out on our beautiful lanai. We watched the Mavs game and spent the day relaxing.
